
If a student believes their education record contains information that is inaccurate, misleading, or is otherwise in violation of their privacy rights, the student may request in writing that their record be changed. The right to request an amendment to their education records, if they believes the record contains inaccurate or misleading information. At the time of inspection, the student will be required to show photo identification and must inspect the records in the presence of a representative from the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar’s Office will contact the student as soon as possible, but no later than 45 days from the date the request was received, to arrange a time and place for the student to inspect the requested records. Students must submit a written request to the Office of the Registrar identifying the item or items of their record they wish to inspect. The Registrar has been designated by the University to coordinate the inspection and review procedures of student education records. The right to inspect and review their education records within 45 days from the date the University receives the student’s request for access. Students at West Chester University are afforded the following rights regarding their education records: 1. West Chester University is committed to protecting the privacy of its students and to maintaining the confidentiality of student education records in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).

Reports of such activity will be addressed pursuant to University policies and procedures and applicable law.Individuals will be held responsible for any actions under their signature with the use of their preferred or legal name.
